I've been where you are.

Like most men in their 50s, I've had highs and lows, wins and losses. I've made plenty of mistakes — of course I have, I'm human.

My biggest learnings have come from my worst moments: a difficult divorce, failed businesses, losing friends, losing money, gaining weight. When the dust settled each time, a slightly improved version of me emerged.

When I finally had the courage to be true to myself — to be respectful of opposing viewpoints and to always speak my truth — I found it cathartic and life-changing.

"My dad — by any measure a world-class role model — insists his life-changing moment was the realisation that the real action is in giving, not taking or receiving. I wish I'd understood that sooner."

I was so fortunate to have such a brilliant childhood — close family, community, and friends. There was always love and respect. I could be myself, express my opinions, and not have to hide them. Being accountable when you messed up was expected and appreciated. I've never taken that luxury for granted.

The Grounded Man is me putting those early lessons to work for you.
